After a long 9 hour somewhat scenic road trip my friend and I made it to Nashville. This place called Acme with the cutest market store was a great place to fill your hungry belly. I got the shrimp and grits and barely was able to eat half of it. I had to save room for the basket of biscuits.
After breakfast we continued to explore Broadway Street. We saw the famous skyscraper aka “Batman Building” aka AT&T Tower. It is a soaring 617 feet high & 33 stories.
Then we scrambled through the new Johnny Cash museum. It’s easy to spend some time in here. I loved all the old letters, music, and collections of artifacts and memorabilia on display.
Afterwards we went across to the Goo Goo Chocolate Shop for some samples and gifts. Then we stopped in a little joint called Layla’s to listen to some good old country western or “Hillbilly music”complete with steel guitar and a skinny cowboy for a little two steppin’ in the daylight.
The next day we explored and had some more great food at a few top noshing spots. Ramen and sushi at Two Ten Jack was awesome! It was also voted Nashville Scene’s Best Sushi 2015.
The Patterson House is located just near Vanderbilt and conveniently a couple blocks from our hotel. This is an awesome speakeasy that we waited behind the curtain for about 40 minutes to enjoy but was absolutely worth it with the best mixologists as entertainment.
…and there is our hot bartenderAfter dinner we found an underground show at “The Basement” that was one of a kind and easy listening. This was such a cool experience with the best selection of songs.
Heading out of town we checked out one more sight in Nashville known as the Parthenon in Centennial Park.
