Rose Soirée

This event was an exquisite celebration of 624 Kitchen’s one year anniversary.   Endive and lobster salad was my favorite!   We appreciated this velvety Pinot Noir red that was mistakenly thrown in by the supplier, thinking it was a Pinot Noir Rose.  We are happy that she generously served it anyway.  I especially appreciate this…

Pete’s Place and Choc Brewery (aka home of “Prairie” beer too!)

A renowned family style Italian restaurant combined with great beer options equals the perfect pre-camping meal! Well…we made it to Pete’s Place!  The last time I traveled here I didn’t even care about the beer, because I was about 11 years old and with my grandparents.  I have quite a different view of the place many…

The Herbal Affair

This is an annual festival of herbs and a celebration of spring that occurs every March that makes Sand Springs, OK very proud. I enjoy this day when I can make it out here. One year ago I was here just prior to going on my five month rv escapade and couldn’t buy anything I…

Red-bud Valley Hike

This little hike was just outside of Tulsa near Catoosa, OK. More like Cacti Valley…this hike was too short and sweet. It was nicely located close to home but not even close to being a challenge. It did have some diverse scenery though with caves, a small lake, woods, and a cacti valley.

Runnin’ on a river

Today I tried out the Riverside running trail along the green banks of the Arkansas River in Tulsa, OK–5 miles of Tulsa beauty. Good birding, nice scene, just enough people for comfort, and not too far of a drive from my parent’s house. I liked it so much, I couldn’t quit running and also decided…

See you in September…

Last day home just in time for Dad’s birthday and early Father’s Day celebration My favorite former Dallas neighborhood restaurant mingled with my new favorite show–Mad Men–to make a cool advertisement on this t-shirt; great Chuy’s add for their Mexican Martini, come to find out from Ashley. No, I did not buy this:) Look closely…

Sad Emergency Detour

Got some very tragic news in Missoula, Montana while doing some laundry in the KOA campground.  I had just mailed her a postcard, so it was so hard to believe she was really gone.  She had passed before even receiving my mail I sent her the morning I got the dreaded Call from my dad….
